Miami River Art Fair
On December 3 – 5, 2018 opens the 7th edition of Miami River Art Fair during Art Basel week, featuring works by new and returning artists, and Kinetic Art Projects shall be exhibiting at this year’s edition of MRAF featuring emerging, contemporary artists who demonstrate different trends and who explore various mediums in contemporary art.
Miami River Art Fair is a prime boutique event counting with thousands of visitors from around the world, the support of the City of Miami’s mayor and the Miami River Commission. The fair offers a great opportunity to connect with an international audience and sell work. The Miami River Art Fair leads emerging galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia to show significant work from established contemporary and emerging artists: paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, large scale artworks, and performances become part of the downtown waterfront-scape.
The site of the fair at the Miami Convention Center, the James L Knight Complex, is of great historic importance to the city, located at the mouth of the Miami River in what is known as the Lower Miami River District. This is the area that bridges Downtown Miami and the financial business district of Brickell. The Lower Miami River District went through a major revitalization and is now considered one of the most prosperous and wealthiest sectors of city. In fact, the MRAF’s was invited to activate this critical focal point of the city by placing this fantastic art fair attracting thousands of visitors, and to compliment Art Basel week in a city considered as the epicenter for international contemporary art in the Americas for more than two decades.
This year Kinetic Art Projects, was invited to introduce diverse digital art works to the fair. KA Projects organizes art exhibitions and a film festival with a strong emphasis on cultural exchange and social awareness. To promote upcoming artists for the December art fair, KA Projects will continue its focus on high quality works from international established and emerging artists. An artist represented by KA Projects, during Art Basel week, will have an opportunity to introduce, market and sell his/her/their work to sophisticated collectors.
As an artist represented by KA Projects your work will form part of one the most extraordinary events of Art Basel Week in Miami. For this year’s event we seek original contemporary digitally produced works (experimental photography, video works, VR, AR, light installations, sculptures and innovative works with a digital component). Artworks can be wall pieces, stand alone structures or be interactive.
Kinetic Art Projects seeks to engross its roster for future international events in Miami, Hong Kong and Dubai. Our goal is to continue to promote original video art works, time-based media, performance art, installations and digitally or electronically drive sculptures. KA Projects maintains an active roster of artists, many of whom are rising in the ranks of the international art scene, in public institutions and private collections.
Non-refundable application Fee: $50- Accepted artists are required to pay a USD $500 confirmation deposit to secure space once their participation has been approved, and the balance by October 15 2018 for a total of $1500 (final invoice).
